BOOK REVIEW: Quilter's Newsletter Magazine October 2004/No. 366 by Helen Gregory "It's true! The quilts featured in this book are both stunning and easily accomplished. The first half of the book is beautifully presented. An inviting, friendly narrative is interspersed with photographs of attractive quilts shown in lovely settings. Nicole Chambers dedicates much of this section to a conversation about various approaches to fabric selection and use. With an encouraging manner, she inspires quilters to move beyond preconceived ideas about right and wrong fabric uses. She encourages risk-taking with color. |

The latter half of the book contains the patterns. The instructions are clear and include detailed black-and-white diagrams. While a few of the quilts are a little more involved, all do qualify as simple. Nicole offers a variety of quiltmaking shortcuts for use with the patterns in the book." |
